The two letter state codes for states & Canadian Provinces are contained with a text file called STATES.TXT The radio codes & signals we have in file at the moment are contained in individual text files beginning with the two letter code for the state e.g. OH.TXT. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: All the files on the CD-ROM are READ ONLY. If you wish to change any of the TXT files you will need to change the file's attributes to ARCHIVE. To do this simply copy the TXT files you wish to change to your hard drive. Once you have them on your HD, type the following command: ATTRIB -R. This will turn off the read only flag and allow you to change the file. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES ON RADIO CODES & SIGNALS: The radio codes & signals used by various agencies (both public and private) are not a matter of public record as are the radio frequencies. They have been supplied to us from many sources and have been compiled here for your use. Therefore, you may not find the specific codes & signals for your area. However, many agencies within a state use similar codes and you may be able to piece together a working list for your locality even without the specific codes & signals. If you do come up with an "official" list and we do not have it contained here, be sure to send us a copy and we will include that information to be shared with other scanner radio enthusiasts. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- To print the text files provided with this program, use your DOS print command (e.g. PRINT STATES.TXT). This will print the states text file to the printer. Enjoy your Betty Bearcat CD and look for updates in the future. HOW TO USE BETTY BEARCAT -- THE ELECTRONIC FREQUENCY DIRECTORY FOR WINDOWS: 1.
